Misti Morningstar
President
/ Creative Director
Misti Morningstar founded Morningstar Design
in 1990 based on her 30 years experience in all facets of the
advertising and printing industry. Her practical experience and
true passion for customer service, along with her natural talent
for creativeness and marketing perspective are the heart and soul
of her exceptional, award-winning design firm.
Misti brings all of the outstanding attributes
one would expect from a successful entrepreneur to each and every
project she contracts, ensuring her clients the same desired status.
Her superb communication skills enable her to establish strong,
interactive relationships with those clients in order for her
to develop the strategies necessary to accomplish their long term
goals. Additionally, Misti has a highly refined ability to conceptualize,
and as important, she has the proficient organizational facilities
to carry an idea through the myriad of design and production stages
to completion, always incorporating new technologies with time-proven
techniques.
In all areas, Misti offers an expertise grounded
by her solid understanding and ever growing knowledge of the advertising
and marketing business. This enables her to direct her Morningstar
Design team in qualifying a client’s best audience and then
customizing extremely effective plans to maximize exposure and
impact. She is a stalwart negotiator, a clever and competitive
specialist in her field, who works first and foremost for the
benefit of the organizations she represents using all her resources
to protect their interests. Personally, Misti is a forward thinker,
enthusiastic, fair-minded and concerned; professionally, she is
the same. She is innovative, multi-talented, with an eye for quality
detail and a view towards perfection in all endeavors. At Morningstar
Design, Misti has hand chosen a first-rate staff that displays
the same talents and focus in order to best serve each and every
one of her clients.
Misti lives and works in Frederick County. Her
commitment and dedication to this community, its marketplace and
beyond is evident in the support she provides through Morningstar
Design, Le Savon, the soap factory she created in downtown Frederick,
as well as her involvement and contributions to many charitable
causes.

Daniel Gramlich
Technical Director
Daniel came to Morningstar Design seven years
ago offering us an array of proven abilities and untapped potential.
Having previously served as an application engineer, his long
term experience and superior skills in the software field enable
us to provide our clients with the best solutions for their database
reporting, multimedia, and web development needs. An asset beyond
compare is Daniel’s ongoing and intuitive evaluation of
practical new technologies. This allows Morningstar Design to
place on the cutting edge of all trends related to marketing and
advertising, and for our clients to take full advantage of that
position.
In addition, Daniel is also a creative force
able to integrate his technical knowledge into the actual design
process from conception to production. He is well-versed in all
aspects of the firm, making integral contributions to the direction,
definition and focus of all our projects. His expertise and talents
are applied to the specification and design, as well as technical
engineering of each.
All that, plus an engaging personality, makes
it possible for Daniel to successfully take on the role of a senior
account manager and consultant for our local, national, and international
clientele. Daniel is an excellent communicator, providing technical
and practical application advice that can be easily understood
by our clients. He is able to provide them with the assistance
to best utilize Morningstar’s resources, and ultimately,
to derive the most benefits.
Daniel served his country
in the US Navy as a sonar technician prior to receiving his Bachelor
of Science degree in electrical engineering from DeVry University
in Columbus, Ohio.

Melissa Neal
Art Director /
Office Manager
Melissa joined Morningstar Design as a graphic
design specialist, but brought along many other talents and skills
important to our firm and our clients. First, she has an exceptional
communication aptitude, a must-have to produce effective and connective
advertising, as well as to optimize research. Also, Melissa’s
well-developed organizational skills, the ability to prioritize
and follow up, enable her to run with a project to ensure our
clients the most economical and timely results.
While her ability and expertise cross all lines
of graphic design, Melissa excels at package design where she
demonstrates her wonderful visual instinct for composition. Packaging
is the ideal canvas for her crisp illustrations and her balanced
photographs. Here, as in all areas of design, she turns her sharp
eye for fine detail towards the big picture to provide our clients
with the most benefits. The worth of Melissa’s five years
experience in design is most evident in the high quality of her
finished product, while her naturally keen sense for the process
inevitably makes each project she works on distinctive and successful.
Always fresh and uniquely creative, Melissa’s contributions
provide Morningstar’s clients with the opportunity to stand
out and above in their marketplace.
Striving for excellence in all that she produces
for Morningstar Design, Melissa continuously researches all advancements
in her field and regularly attends workshops in order to add new
skills and improve her techniques. As importantly, Melissa lives
her art—painting and photographing, as well as writing—at
home, and brings to the workplace the value of her efforts.
Melissa obtained an Associates Degree in Visual
Communications along with a certification in graphic design from
Frederick Community College. She was also the recipient of several
outstanding awards in various juried student art shows at the
college. In addition, she interned for the
College Publications Department, contributing greatly to their
marketing success through her work.

Emily Potthast
Multimedia Specialist
Emily started at Morningstar Design as a web
and graphic designer with experience and capabilities beyond many
in her field. For over five years, she has developed and maintained
winning websites for national as well as international businesses
and organizations, including the Indiana University of Pennsylvania,
The Holy Cross Congregation of East Africa, and Footlight Players,
Inc.
Her innate talent and well-honed skills are applied
to many facets of Morningstar Design’s products and services
from high-energy presentations to the design and development of
highly effective websites, and she holds overseer responsibility
for most. Emily tremendously enhances her website spinning with
her unique illustration skills, providing clients with invaluable
results. On all projects, she is able to seamlessly integrate
function with flair combining her knowledge with her creativity.
Though we often utilize Emily’s expertise
in design and site layout, she is also very proficient in HTML,
JavaScript, CSS, cross-browser design, Macromedia Dreamweaver,
and other applications. She provides Morningstar Design with a
wide range of capabilities to offer our clients, and her diversity
enables us to remain an essential resource for meeting their ever-changing
needs. In order to remain current and innovative, Emily is always
researching and continuing her education in all related technology
and design areas. These ongoing efforts in concert with her many
talents offer unlimited benefits to us and to our clients.
Emily holds a Bachelor
of Arts degree in studio art and a minor in communications media
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
